Walls

This dry stack wall has a coping of heavy granite slabs which insures its stability

Dry stack walls terrace a slope. These are walls without any mortar. The base of the walls is 1/3 to 1/2 the height. The wallstone is available in the trade under the name "Skyline". The coping and steps are hand quarried granite from Garey Millstone Company in York/ Maine.

It is typical for dry stack walls to show horizontal layers. Heavy coping greatly improves stability and safety. These walls are walkable and can serve as benches.

Wall are great to shape a garden. This "before-photo" shows the undefined space. The owner wanted to terrace the property and structure the landscape (see photo on right)

This wall has achieved the goal. It brought definition into the garden and dedicated the space for lawn and beds.

A fine granite wall connect house foundation and posts. Wall builder and fence builder had to cooperate well to make this possible. Stonework designed and installed by "Green Art", fence installed by "Upright Fence"

Granite coping has been cut to accommodate the fence post. Precision in stonework!

Wall building can be a challenging undertaking. In this case, stones had to be cut to fit around concrete footings of a building
